SB19 begins new era with a message of self-love and empowerment

SB19 is back, bestie!

Made up of Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin, SB19 returns to the p-pop spotlight with a fierce music video for their lead single, "What?". The upbeat track also marks the group's new era, 'Ikalawang Yugto.'

The new track is a feisty pop-rock anthem mixed with a strong message of self-love and empowerment. "What?" is also SB19's renaissance as they try to shy away from their usual boy-next-door shtick as a boy band.

"A lot of people still doubt us, denouncing everything that we do and everything that we're trying to achieve. We love what we do, that's why we do it respectfully," main rapper and lead vocalist Pablo shares in a statement.

With its heavier sound and more powerful in-to-your-face message, the song is definitely different compared to their previous songs.

"I really had to force out the 'oomph' in the voices of the members. I was really meticulous with the recordings, but so were they. That's why we would record 'til morning and until everyone was satisfied with their parts. The feeling had to be there," Pablo, who also co-wrote the song, shared as they talk about their recording process.

'What?' is about self-love and empowerment. Each of us has our own flag. We should be proud of it and raise it as much as we can. As SB19 and as individuals, we know that we're not the best at everything, but that shouldn't stop us from what we want to achieve."

The music video of “What?” shows SB19 in a fictional post-apocalyptic war zone ready to fight and win any battle. As of writing the music video already garnered over 1 million views!
