Here's why men are scared of strong independent women

Feb 17, 2021 0 comments

In the beginning, God created Man, and he thought he could micromanage everything— until God made a woman.

Somewhere in a parallel universe, that could be the underlying message of "The Creation," from the book of Genesis in the Bible. Funny enough, in real life, most men find themselves in a constant crusade — not with the snake, but with women.

The rise of women

Women in modern times are now chipping away from the gender biases that our machismo society has created.

Personalities like Malala Yousufzai, Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, and Venus Williams are only some of the great women who paved the way in breaking stereotypes and empower women to use their voices.  Voices that now scare the hell out of men. Why is it so?

A man's ego is bigger than what he can do

According to Psychologist Jay Carter, you can call a man an ass, a jerk, or whatever you call him, and for him, it's acceptable. But once you call him irresponsible or a has-been, he will be devastated. Unline, most women who get stronger and wiser in every challenge they face or whatever words are thrown at them—  look at Taylor Swift.

Men are not ready to hand over the reign

During her political career as the first woman to run as U.S. President, Victoria Woodhull has endured political-name calling. She was called "Mrs. Satan, a witch, and a harpie." These lowballing calls are still in effect today, even in our country.

The ever-helpful Angel Locsin wasn't spare either from tirades. Despite her non-political affiliation and just voicing her mere disappointments over the government's shortcomings, she was savagely attacked and even red-tagged by no-less than the military. Do you see how cruel men can be? And how afraid they are to see someone doing something out of the ordinary? Locsin's voice sparked many other women (and logical men, too) to air their grievances. This alarmed many politicians, and instead of heeding the call, turn the favor through political slur.

Woman's voice demands changes

Women nowadays use their voices to demand changes and defy the conventional. Throughout history, men tried to limit women's roles in society. When it comes to decision making, the traditional submission of women is expected. But, when given the chance, women are straightforward to criticize wrongful doing.

Who else should we pick as an example? The fierce Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago. Among the politicians and leaders that we have, she deliberately threw herself among experienced men in politics. She cited anomalies after anomalies in the government and among her league and wasn't afraid to be thrown under the bus. She displayed how a woman should be in a world where men care nothing but their skin.

Listening to the voice of women guarantee the chance that everyone is being heard, regardless of status, race, and sex.  Men in power don't want that to happen. Women's voices should be heard, especially when men are trying to mess things out— look out our dear country.
