Staying true to its goal of promoting the arts and humanities even amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, The UPLB Com Arts Society is all set to launch the Eureka Masterclass Series 2021 on March 19-22.

Eureka Masterclass Series 2021 aims to provide an alternative learning venue in the different areas of communication. It will feature workshops on Zine Making, Digital Marketing, and Online Theatre Acting to be given by the organization’s proud alumni who are now seasoned professionals in their respective fields.

Writer, educator, and graphic designer, John Daryl Alcantara will hold the first workshop titled “Small Pressing Issues: Alternatibong Paglilimbag sa Panahon ng Neoliberalismo” on March 19 at 7-10 PM. Alcantara will have a lecture that tackles the emergence and current state of independent publishing in the Philippines, as well as the challenges that local art communities face under the current regime. Participants are expected to be able to make their own zines at the end of the workshop.

The second day will feature Certified Digital Marketer Elizele Odigie’s workshop on “Digital Marketing Raket 101: How to Start Digital Marketing and Grow Your Raket” at 3-6 PM. This will be helpful for businesses and enterprising individuals who were pushed into the digital space to continue their livelihoods because of the pandemic. 
Expect a discussion on understanding online marketing as a part of the marketing field with a focus on content planning, social media analytics, and online advertising. Participants can consider this as their crash course in starting digital marketing or getting their raket to thrive online.

Last but not the least, Tanghalang Pilipino Actor Eunice Pacia will close the three-day event on March 21 at 7-10 PM with “Teatro Kuwadrado: Theater Acting Online''. This workshop aims to capacitate aspiring theatre actors who now have to perform under the four corners of their rooms and conduct online theater productions due to the constraints of the pandemic.


“The UPLB ComArtSoc will continue to provide an alternative learning venue on the different areas of communication, especially now that the COVID-19 pandemic poses pressing challenges to education,” said John Peter Angelo Garcia, event head of the Eureka series.

All of three workshops will be streamed live on the UPLB ComArtSoc official Facebook page.

Aside from the said workshops, a donation drive will also be launched through Eureka for the benefit of farmers in Hacienda Yulo, Laguna. All donations will be used in providing financial aid and relief support for the farmers. Monetary donations will be accepted via the following bank accounts:
