‘Bar Boys: The Musical’ Returns with All-New Staging This October

After making waves with two sold-out runs in 2024, the critically acclaimed Bar Boys: The Musical is back and reimagined for an even bigger audience. The original Filipino production, which struck a chord with thousands of theatergoers for its heartfelt portrayal of friendship, ambition, and the pressures of law school, is returning with an all-new staging at the Hyundai Hall, Areté in Quezon City opening this October 24, 2025, for a limited engagement only.

With new surprises, expanded creative vision, and a powerhouse cast, Bar Boys is set to take center stage once again and raise the bar for contemporary Philippine theater.

A Barkada You’ll Never Forget — Meet the Cast

Barefoot Theatre Collaborative has officially released the full lineup of cast members bringing the hit musical to life.

Returning to reprise their roles are Benedix Ramos as Erik Vicencio, Alex Diaz as Chris Abueva, Jerom Canlas as Torran Garcia, Omar Uddin as Josh Zuniga, and Sheila Francisco as Justice Hernandez. Also coming back are Juliene Mendoza and Lorenz Martinez (alternating as Paping), Nor Domingo as Atty. Maurice Carlson, Gimbey dela Cruz as Boss Mama, and Carlon Matobato as Male Professor and others. Ade Valenzona and Mijon Cortez return as part of the ensemble, while Ian Pangilinan, Shaun Ocrisma, Chino Veguillas, and Naths Everett will cover several roles throughout the run.

This year’s new additions include Gio Gahol as Atty. Victor Cruz and Natasha Cabrera as Female Professor and others. New ensemble members joining the production are Sheena Belarmino, Dippy Arceo, Pappel, Denize Castillo, Keith Sumbi, Ammin Acha-ur, Gelo Lantaco, Daniel Wesley, Elian Dominguez, Curp Adriano, Robe Zamora Dagcuta, Joshua Rico, and Leo Lapitan. Rounding out the cast are Jude Hinumdum as the cover for Erik Vicencio and Torran Garcia, Ace Polias as the male swing, and Aecy Abne as the female swing.

A Story That Still Hits Home

Bar Boys follows four friends — Erik, Chris, Torran, and Josh — as they navigate the highs and lows of law school, each with their own fears, doubts, and dreams. It’s a deeply personal story that goes beyond the walls of the classroom, reflecting the struggles of growing up, growing apart, and staying true to one’s path.

Witty, moving, and unmistakably Filipino, the musical dives into the pressure of expectation, the beauty of chosen family, and the quiet resilience needed to survive both law school and life. No wonder audiences saw themselves in it — and left the theater humming its songs.
