Brent and John, on the other hand, were church mates and part of the music ministry. After Brent introduced John to Chloe, they all started to enjoy the process of creating music and discussing their thoughts together.

Lock Out Season

Curious about the band name? It's a reference to NBA's 2011 lockout season, a fun nod to how pop-punk bands love to reference sports. Get ready to rock out with River Strauss as the vocalist and principal songwriter, Rico Leonardo on guitar, CJ Cagandahan also on guitar, Ervin Manalo slamming the drums, and Anton Conejero shredding on bass.

These five friends came together in 2017 when singer-songwriter River Strauss reached out to sound-engineer Rico Leonardo to produce some original songs. They thought it would be a blast to get some friends together and see how the songs would sound with dynamic drums and heavy electric guitars. CJ Cagandahan, Ervin Manalo, and Anton Conejero joined in and the rest is history.

The band's music is emo pop-punk, with a sound reminiscent of the 2000s. Fans of artists like Mayday Parade, The Wonder Years, The Menzingers, Movements, Modern Baseball, and similar bands will enjoy Lockout Season's sound.

What's in store for the future? Lockout Season is an independent self-managed band, planning to release new music every year at a steady pace. In five or ten years, they would have likely released 2-3 full-length albums, tackling themes of growing pains, adult friendships, and trying your best during times of hardship. They also hope to grow a fanbase that resonates with their music and have live audiences singing back their lyrics one day.

Lockout Season's members all have day jobs, but they hope to focus on the band full-time in 10 years. In the meantime, fans can expect at least one more single this year and the band is heavily focused on playing as many shows as they can. Get ready to rock with Lockout Season!
