Not all influencers have the goal to conform to their roles and be perfect in entertaining the public. Some are just trying to keep it real. In the competitive industry of influencers, L.A. stands out for something simpler. Along with his platform, he's here to live life to the fullest, inspire, and achieve connection.
For L.A Aguinaldo, that’s how good days begin; waking up around 8 AM, going for a walk or a jog around his village, and preparing his mental and physical well-being for the day ahead. “I really like just a sense of serenity,” he said. L.A.’s routine balances career, fun, and self-care, whilst figuring out his role as an influencer. He goes from answering emails, replying to everyone, going through events, brainstorming ideas for content, shooting content, and posting it. But in between these complex schedules, L.A. still prioritizes giving himself a me-time, “It’s a good way for me to destress also.” Whether it’s basketball, going to the gym, or picking up a new hobby, L.A. always tries to let loose and live life.
“It’s a way for me to connect with myself. Like ano pa mga kaya ‘kong gawin, like nagugulat ako minsan, andami ko palang kayang gawin. It’s just a matter of putting the time and effort into it.”
Finding balance and creating space for peace
Even with the spotlight tied to him, some of L.A.’s most important or mundane moments are the ones that stay offline, including the new hobby he just picked. We're all excited to hear about it but we’ll give it to him! His version of a “good day" is simple, unfiltered, and full of self-care. “I don’t really share my fitness journey or my basketball journey,” he said. For L.A., it is his way to keep up with his mental health and physical fit. “Minsan nakakalimutan natin why we’re stressed or tensed… Ah kasi my body is not moving the right way, I’m not feeding it the right fuel.“
“I believe a healthy body equates to a healthy mind,” he added. And maybe that’s the whole point! L.A. shows us that despite what we do, or how busy we are, it’s not just about the content or hustle. It’s about checking in with ourselves and doing the things that remind us we’re human beings first.
From casual post to creative purpose
His early exposure started with a feature in Candy magazine’s “Candy Cuties.” For him, it's a moment that kind of just happened, a moment where he finally felt seen. Back then, L.A. wasn't chasing the number of followers or the goal to go viral with his posting of his everyday life, whether it’s about travels, hangouts, or random events. This unexpected spotlight was more of a discovery to him, a meaningful one. He found a whole new audience, a community that appreciates and sees what he does. “Nag-eengage sila and ako din, I like replying to people online,” he stated. And despite how big this opportunity was, what L.A. really liked is the connection he made with his audience.
Aside from connecting to his audience, the way L.A. navigates the role of being a content creator is honestly refreshing. For him, there’s no need to always put pressure on thinking or creating a perfect content, “at the end of the day, it’s about expression,” and that’s what makes him stand out.
“Content is just another word, but for me, creator means answering the call of creativity.”
As his audience grew, L.A. explored his creative side to make content as well. A process where people don’t always see that behind every creative and engaging content is a person trying to figure it all out, too. Because even if it looks effortless on the outside, there's always a real person behind the screen doing the work, feeling the doubt, and still choosing to show up. For him, the essence of being a content creator is answering that call of creativity, and turning it into action; a piece where his community would find joy, entertainment, or inspiration too, and we think that’s really beautiful.
In a way, L.A.’s journey as a content creator has paved a way as a self-discovery as well. One that allows him to explore and express himself the way he likes it. “A lot of people don’t know I have a deep love for music. I play the drums. I play the guitar. I play the bass guitar. I’m really into music,” he shared when asked about doing other content besides fashion. “That’s something I really want to share with the people soon,” he added. What’s interesting about L.A. is that he’s never afraid to try things, they may not always be viral, or perfect, but it’s always honest and genuine.
“I think people who are just outside looking in and not creating content, they think it’s all fun and games, but it’s also since we love what we do, we also put hard work and dedication.”
Being a content creator for L.A. includes sincerity and passion. It’s a hit or miss situation; there are days where he would constantly think of concepts for content. But that's what makes it authentic; the trial, the error, and the quiet wins that no one knows. It may not be perfect, but he always tries to deliver the best content. No matter what the outcome is, in a way, his audience still consumes it, and he still achieves his goal in inspiring people. It's never easy, but it’s the real effort that content creators put in their work. And let's be real, there’s always someone ready to criticize their work, but for L.A., “there will always be people who will judge you for your content or whatever, but that’s not your audience anyway.” “You don’t have to please everyone, and the right audience will find you,” he added.
L.A. on taking it slow and enjoying the process
At the end of the day, and behind all the hard work, L.A. refrain himself from feeling pressured to the system that comes from being a content creator. For him, it will always be about self-expression. There’s no rush in creating perfect content, especially when you’re not completely feeling it.
“Di ka lagi perfect. But you have to remind yourself when I post, it doesn't have to be perfect, it just can be what I feel at that moment or eto lang yung kaya ko at that time eh and it doesn't take anything out from you. It doesn't make you less of a person.
L.A. really knows his way to inspire people. It manifests in his work and ideas how grounded he is. These words don't only apply to the content creators, it applies to everyone. We’re all just human beings afterall, we’re susceptible to feeling burnouts. Pressing pause, enjoying life, and staying true to yourself, is a way for us to stay grounded in this already challenging life. And for those wanting to go outside their comfort zones and try doing content,
“They should not wait for the perfect time or the perfect moment kasi dadating yan eh but first step is you have to put yourself out there talaga. Whether you're into fashion, into art, into makeup, into music, you just have to put yourself out there and be brave. That's one thing I think content creators should be, is be brave.”
For him, being brave and putting yourself out there is essential. It’s a way to connect with yourself more and the things you might find peace doing. Beautifully, L.A. shared with us how we could be brave; and that is by loving and being true to ourselves, which also allows us to be true and genuine to our audience, whatever content we might share to them.
So for anyone wondering what kind of influencer L.A. Aguinaldo is? He is the one that prioritizes connection with the audience and his well being. Apart from his infectious personality and effortless charm, he’s one of the realest. He is a living proof that checking in with yourself, doing the most mundane things, and just living in the moment is one way to have a good day, and honestly, we can’t wait to see more of it!
