Jun Salarzon on being unapologetically iconic

Jul 31, 2022 5 comments

For this rising Tiktok star, the world is her runway. From uploading random contents and remaking viral videos to serving us visuals through her ‘maasim cosplays’ of characters on her social media accounts, remember it— Jun Salarzon is her name!

You probably saw one of her videos circulating on Tiktok, Facebook, and Instagram. With over 1.7 million followers on Tiktok, 86.5k followers on Twitter, 47k followers on Instagram and Youtube, she’s just starting! The girl is just effortlessly funny and deserves to be recognized. Well, we owe our giggles and a good laugh to this queen.

Let’s get to know Jun Salarzon or Junjun, a breakthrough influencer who loves to do her thing and doesn’t care about what other people think.

When dreams turn into reality

Despite starting just only last year, Jun Salarzon became known in different social media platforms through her random comedic contents, “I started uploading very random things like what I’m doing right now, I comment on my post and I will reply to it with video parang nakikipag away lang po ako sa sarili ko.” she jokingly said. Her videos clicked immediately and captured the hearts of the netizens.

It was January 2021 when she started making and uploading videos online. Her first viral content? A video of her telling her mom “Mah, may aaminin ako sayo… ampon ka mah”. A lot of people find it funny, and from then on, they keep on waiting for her next upload. People also love her ‘maasim cosplay’ of characters like Isabella from Encanto, Annabelle doll, and many more.

Junjun also came up with a song that’s been in our heads for a long time now. Have you heard of the song Barbielat? Barbielat is a conjunction of two words: Barbie and bilat. It’s a song that you can’t just get out of your mind for its repetitive lyrics “Barbielat barbielat barbie babarbie barbie barbielat”. It will take you on a rollercoaster ride because you can hear different genres in a span of 2 minutes. She later on posted an MV of her Barbielat song and miss ma'am's visuals has no chill.

When asked how does she come up with her contents such as her cosplays and hilarious videos, "madalas it just randomly comes out pero pag nag cosplay ako and minsan mag remake ng mga videos sa Tiktok, yung mga audience ko na yung nag rerequest example, sasabihin nila “mih, i-cosplay mo nga si ganto ganyan” and “ @jun_salarzon recreate mo nga to” she explained.

Aside from being a content creator, our favorite probinsyana girl is a college student taking up a cookery course. She also recognizes herself as a ‘beterana sa pag uukay’, this explains her being stylish in her several contents. It’s her dream to start a business and have her very own little cafe.

The influence she holds and how she uses it

What we love about Junjun is that she knows what she wants and stands for what she believes is right–like what a real influencer should be. When asked how important it is for her to have a stand on different social issues, “Very important, especially [for] people like me that have a big following [that] we should use our voice regarding these topics hindi lang yung puro entertainment.” she said.

For her, it’s not all fun and games and that it is important for influencers to speak up, “Other influencers are scared to speak up about serious things because they will be labeled as uncool or problematic but that’s the truth, people should face the issues because it’s really happening out there.” he reiterated.

"Small or big voice still matters. The important thing is you spoke up and tumindig ka that means a lot because it shows na may pakealam ka sa society and you want improvements and you are bothered by the system. Because if people will keep on being resilient about these issues there will be no improvements." Junjun said, encouraging influencers to share their thoughts on issues that matter, and that resiliency is not an option.

This is what makes Jun Salarzon iconic, to be an influencer who lets her audience be aware of the system and wants it to improve. She is a versatile and iconic breakthrough artist who keeps us reminded that you should do you and to keep slaying, and that’s on PERIODT!
