Patricia Non and Community Pantry PH movement have the best Mother’s Day gift

May 10, 2023 0 comments
After years of spreading kindness in solidarity with the Filipino masses, which was witnessed during the 2019 global pandemic, Patricia Non, the ultimate mother and kick-starter of the community pantry movement in the Philippines, is celebrating Mother’s Day by conducting a fundraiser that aims to help mothers in Payatas, Philippines.

From placing a bamboo cart along the streets of Maginhawa, Quezon City, filled with food and groceries, Patricia Non announced in her Twitter account that the Community Pantry PH is set to sell a pantry bayong, a bamboo bag sort of package that includes fruits, vegetables, and even a community pantry PH apron. Right? She even mothered this!

Nag-uumapaw na bayong at pagmamahal para kay Nanay!

According to Non, the included community pantry PH aprons are weaved and stitched by some mothers in Payatas. They were actually survivors and victims of extrajudicial killings due to the Oplan Tokhang (War on Drugs). It has become their source of income and livelihood since then. In union, Patricia Non has rippled the effect of kindness to various sectors, and that has led to uplift them.
Moreover, as we are about to celebrate mother’s day, not only does Non make sure that these mothers' voices and works are honored, but she also emphasizes that this is due to the fact that Mother Nature has always provided us with the amount of food served on our tables.

With this heart and sense of solidarity among classes, Patricia Non still proves that kindness and selflessness are like dominoes cascading in a line. Again, she mothered so hard! And in hopes that many people will still be inspired by her act, the movement will abide by its intentions: to serve the mass.
