On the anniversary of the May 9 elections, Angat Buhay chairperson Leni Robredo found a special way to look back on what could have been a disheartening defeat for others as she launched a coffee table book reflecting on the 2022 presidential campaign. During the book launch, Atty. Robredo reiterated that she did not regret a thing and said she was willing to “go through it all over again.”

Right after the end of her term as the country’s vice president, Atty. Robredo wasted no time in launching Angat Buhay, a non-governmental organization dedicated to sustaining and extending the initiatives implemented during her term.

Tayo ang Liwanag

The coffee table book titled “Tayo ang Liwanag” is a 388-page book featuring a compilation of our former Vice President’s photos and stories throughout her memorable journey from the 2022 presidential campaign which has been referred to by many as “the pink revolution era.” The book weighing three kilos consists of huge portions that Atty. Robredo never shared with the public before including what was happening before the decision-making when she decided to run. She considers the book as the “diary of everything that has happened.”

"Kuwento nating lahat ito, hindi lang ito kuwento ko, so maraming salamat pero I really want to thank everyone not just for joining us sa laban na pinagdaanan natin na napakahirap pero for not losing hope even after the grief we felt when we lost," Atty. Robredo said.

During the launch and the book signing event which took place at the Museo ng Pag-asa in Quezon City, Atty. Robredo also expressed her gratitude to the photographers whose captivating images graced the pages of the book. She specifically acknowledged the contributions of Charie Villegas, Jay Ganzon, Czar Dancel, and Bullit Marquez, alongside writers Aica Dioquino and editor Yvette Fernandez.

On the same day, all the books were sold out. “Maghapon hanggang gabi ako nagpirma kanina pero sobrang saya to be with everyone again. We have been getting a lot of inquiries from our volunteers from the provinces, and we will try as much as we can to schedule provincial book signing events. Please stay tuned for further announcements,” she captioned on her Facebook post.

"Tayo ang Liwanag" is priced at P2,499 for the hardcopy version and P1,000 for the softbound edition. To secure a copy in advance, you can place your pre-orders at the website https://bit.ly/TayoAngLiwanagBook.
