Slater Young has issued an apology for his comments during the latest episode titled "Addressing The Issue" of the Skypodcast, which he co-hosts with his wife, Kryz Uy.

The former PBB housemate recently sparked controversy on social media with comments about men fantasizing about other women while in a relationship. While it might seem a problem for some couples, Slater believes it's "very normal" among men as long as they don't act on it.

"Big eye opener for me. I truly, truly do apologize. My heart of hearts, hindi talaga ako pro objectifying women," Slater said in skypodcast. "It's a learning experience for me, especially given the platform that we have. It's something to move forward and grow on," he added.

On the controversial episode of the Skypodcast, Slater and his wife Kryz read a letter from a listener. The sender expressed concern after learning that her boyfriend admitted to "fantasizing about other women" and discussing it in group chats with his friends. Slater responded by defending the boyfriend and saying that he was being "honest" about the situation. Slater went on to say that it's normal and inevitable to admire other people's attractiveness to which Kryz agreed to.

He explained that some of his friends sometimes share that kind of content in group chats that aren't meant for such discussions. Furthermore, Slater stated that he has a friend whose father sends him such things, which he accepts without question as a group member.

Slater became a hot topic on the internet since the release of their controversial podcast.

TWISTED MINDSET

In the podcast episode that aired on May 8, Slater Young stated that the man was simply being honest with his girlfriend about the situation.

Slater defended the boyfriend's honesty by saying, “The guy is being absolutely honest. If I were to lie to you, and you ask me if I have boners with other women and if I wanted to lie just to make you comfortable, I’m just going to say, ‘Of course not.'” Young went on to say that accepting the attractiveness of others is normal and a fact of life.

He further commented, "Groups that send photos of girls and fantasize over them, that's normal." It's perfectly normal."

After the podcast episode went viral, Slater came under fire for his remarks.
Facebook user Katrina Quizan commented that fantasizing about someone is “the same as coveting” and that it’s a “twisted mindset.”

Netizens reminded Slater that "women are not toys for entertainment" and that his remarks showed "toxic masculinity at its finest."

As for Kryz, she said that she doesn't check Slater's phone as a way to "protect her peace" since she trusts that her husband won't cheat on her.

Netizens also criticized Kryz for "agreeing" with her husband's statement. They asked if she could tolerate these behaviors if they happened to her.

CONDONING INFIDELITY

Slater’s comments on the subject continuously caused a debate online with people having divided opinions. While some people agreed with the couple's views, others found them disturbing.

Some netizens criticized both Slater and Kryz over viewing such actions as normal when it is clearly unacceptable.

They also accused Slater of condoning infidelity and enabling men to objectify women.
