Argos Philippines Unveils New Watch Celebrating Filipino Craftsmanship

May 23, 2024 0 comments

Filipino watch brand Argos Philippines expands its lineage of signature local watches by introducing its second timepiece, the ASTERI.

Crafted with culture and adventure in mind, the ASTERI marks the newest standard in Argos' mastery of the go-anywhere-do-anything (GADA) watches. This versatile timepiece boasts a sleek, minimalist design that transitions seamlessly from rugged outdoor excursions to sophisticated city nights.

The ASTERI, named after the ancient Greek word for 'star,' symbolizes Argos' unwavering commitment to guide and elevate the Philippine watchmaking industry. Capturing the Philippines' verdant landscapes and celestial nightscapes, the Asteri's Forest Green and Midnight Blue colors draw inspiration from the Sierra Madre mountains.

"For the second release, we wanted to fully encapsulate the spirit of wander and adventure - the sense of driving towards paths least explored, all while celebrating the wonder and beauty of the Philippines," said Argos co-founder Ivan Jeff Soberano.

The Argos Experience

Building on the success of their debut watch, the Odyssey, Argos ventures forward with the Asteri, marking the next chapter in their watchmaking journey.

"We've refined the design of the Asteri based on the feedback of our adventurers who've worn our flagship, The Odyssey. We value the comments of everyone we engage with, and we hope to provide better designs while still retaining our distinct identity as Argos," co-founder Ivan Jeff Soberano mentioned.

Built for both adventure and city life, the Asteri watch is known for combining unique design with top-notch engineering – tough, reliable, and ready for anything you throw at it.

The Asteri boasts a reliable Japanese automatic movement, a tough 316L stainless steel case, and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with excellent legibility. It's water-resistant to 50 meters, perfect for everyday adventures. Upgrades include a larger crown for easy adjustment, crown guards for protection, and Super-LumiNova® for nighttime visibility. The closed caseback features an etching of the Sierra Madre mountains, and the watch comes with a five-link bracelet with micro-adjustments and a quick-release system for easy strap changes. An included NATO strap completes the versatile look.

"The support to Asteri, and Argos, has been an enriching experience, and we hope to share this with more people no matter the background," Soberano mentioned.

The Asteri watch by Argos is a tribute to Filipino craftsmanship. Designed and assembled locally, it highlights the brand's dedication to showcasing the nation's watchmaking talents internationally. The Asteri embodies Argos' commitment to excellence and innovation in the Philippine watchmaking industry.

The Asteri is on a limited run of 100pcs per colorway and is available for pre-order through the Argos Watches website at https://argos-watches.com/products/asteri. SRP is at PhP35,999.0. ###
