Dreams begin with one bold move — taking the shot. And if there's one thing VXON has never been afraid to do, it's exactly that. With every drop of a beat, shift in genre, or transformation of style, the rising P-Pop powerhouse continues to take shot after shot — not just to score, but to shake the game.
Known as the monster rookies of P-Pop, VXON is a five-member group composed of C13, Sam, Vince, Patrick, and Franz. Since their explosive debut under Cornerstone Entertainment in 2022, they've been steadily carving out a name for themselves in a competitive and ever-evolving genre. With chart-topping hits like "The Beast", electrifying performances, and genre-fluid sound, VXON is proving that they're not here to play it safe. They're here to play it real.
In this special Metroscene May cover, VXON steps into a new arena: the rugged, raw, and radiant world of local Liga culture. It's a fitting metaphor — not just for their energy but for the heart of their hustle. But this shoot isn't just about basketball. It's about the spirit of taking shots.
For VXON, taking shots means more than flashy moves or perfect form. It's about betting on themselves, again and again. With every reinvention of sound, every risk in style, every turn away from the expected — they remind us that true power doesn't come from sticking to the playbook. It comes from rewriting the rules entirely.
The Boldest Moves
From experimenting with their sound to reimagining their identities as performers, VXON’s journey has always been one of bold choices and fearless reinvention. They broke into the scene during a time when P-pop was crowded with talent, sharp visuals, and viral hits. Carving out a name wasn’t just a challenge but a battle for presence, distinction, and relevance.
But VXON chose to stand out not by going with what the P-pop wave is taking them but by constantly pushing boundaries. Every shift in their look, every sonic evolution, is a declaration of their refusal to be boxed in. And now, after years of grinding, growing, and taking the kinds of creative leaps that scare most, they’ve found something greater than virality. They’ve found their voice — loud, unapologetic, and deeply rooted in who they truly are.
“P-Pop is widely accepted now because of the efforts of so many P-Pop groups. Talagang nagpupursigi sila,” says VXON leader C13. “When we debuted, we jumped between light and dark concepts, heavily inspired by K-Pop.”
That return to self-led them to the streets — to street music, where grit meets rhythm and storytelling hits hard. For VXON, that shift wasn’t just aesthetic, it was spiritual “But along the way, we realized that we wanted to be true to ourselves, bumalik na sa roots namin, which is to make street music. From there, nag grow kaming VXON. We started to do street music and dun namin narealize na talaga yun yung sound namin so we kept pushing barriers na parang di kami nagstay kung ano yung dinidictate samin na parang ‘o ito yung in ngayon, ito yung gawin natin’ instead, we tried to find kung ano yung wala dun and ayun yung ginawa namin.”
With their new single "Sh*t Sobrang Init," is truly a wonder, with that "VXON touch" their new sounds really what sets them apart. It’s a signature always, undeniably, VXON.
VXON is always looking for room for improvement—whether it’s in their choreography or their music. “Pag kunwari sa dance… kung paano namin sinasayaw yung isang song, at yung music namin syempre. The way we write, the way we conceptualize the music,” Sam explained. He shared that one of the boldest risks they’ve taken as a group was releasing a song about intimacy. “Siguro yung boldest risk na ginawa namin is when we released a song about intimacy. Which is yung ‘Sht Sobrang Init!’* and hindi namin alam kung paano ’yon ite-take ng fans, ng Vixies, pero it’s a risk na gusto naming i-take para mag-grow yung group namin.”
From local recognition to a growing fanbase that rides or dies for their sound, to stages that get louder with every comeback — it’s all paying off. The risks. The reinventions. The refusal to blend in. VXON didn’t just come here to play. They're here to take over.
Kalye Beats, Real Talk
Their bold pivot to Kalye Pop—gritty, raw, and deeply rooted in local soundscapes—marked a defining shift for VXON. A sharp departure from their earlier EDM-inspired tracks, “Saksak Sa Puso” (SSP) became the turning point that cemented their identity.
“Siguro yung pinaka-challenging and stepping-out-of-our-comfort-zone na song ay yung SSP,” recalls Franz, the group’s main songwriter. “‘Di pa namin natry yung ganung sound before—heavily infused with rock and hip-hop. Kaya nung narinig siya ng management, sabi nila, ‘This doesn’t sound like VXON.’ Medyo kinabahan kami.”
Despite initial pushback, the group believed in the song. SSP wasn’t just an experiment; it was a statement. “Nilaban talaga namin. We wanted it to be the main track of the album—the track that would introduce who we really are as VXON.” Franz continues, “I believed in the song, and I believed na bawat miyembro ng grupo mare-represent dito. At nung lumabas siya, nagulat kami sa response—ang daming gumagawa ng dance challenges, ang daming nagsasabing, ‘This is your sound. This is your niche in P-POP.’”
The shift wasn't just sonic for VXON, it was cultural. According to Patrick, “Yung music kasi namin ngayon, sobrang layo na sa before. Yung music namin ngayon papunta na sa street style, more on hip-hop. Ang inspiration namin dito sila Skusta Clee, sila Flo G, sila Hev Abi.” He adds, “Kami naman as P-Pop, we’re very happy na kahit nage-explore kami ng music—kahit sobrang iba siya from before—grateful kami na ina-accept, parang tinatanggap din ng mga Vixies yung sound namin ngayon.”
For VXON, their shift ist just a risk—it was a revelation. It carved out a space for them in the ever-evolving P-Pop landscape. “It really introduced us as VXON. ‘Yung sound na ‘to, this is your niche,” Franz affirms.
Beyond the music, the connection with their fans remains deeply personal. Patrick shares, “Yung fans namin sobrang grabe, wala ako masabi sa kanila. Simula before nung nagdebut kami, sila na yun. Sobrang kilala na namin sila sa mukha talaga. Di namin kami madamot sa interactions, di naman kami madamot kapag gusto nila na i-approach namin sila. Sobrang gaan lang namin kasama actually kasi gusto rin naman namin sila maging masaya kasi simula’t sapul andun na sila sa amin. Gusto lang namin sila maging masaya.”
And this time, they weren’t just making music—they were finally making it on their own terms.
Game On For VXON
“Each member brings something unique to the table, and I think that’s what makes VXON so special. Let me break it down one by one,” Vince shared. “C13 — what I really love about him is his confidence. Even though he has a lot of doubts inside, I have never once seen him give up or lose his strength. That quiet resilience inspires everyone around him.”
“Then there’s Sam. His mind is a wellspring of creativity, but what stands out even more is how organized he is. He’s always got a clear vision and knows exactly where he wants to go. It’s like he’s mapped out his future and every step he takes is deliberate, focused, and full of purpose.” “Franz continues, “As for me, I think my strength lies in creativity, especially in songwriting. But beyond that, I’ve learned to adapt quickly to whatever environment I’m in, which helps me grow with the group and keep up with the fast pace of this industry.”
“And Patrick — his personality is something else. It’s like he carries no burdens, just pure energy. ‘I’ll give joy, I’ll give this much energy’ — that’s his mindset. His positivity and enthusiasm aren’t just contagious, they actually inspire me every day.”
What this really shows is that VXON’s power doesn’t come from just one star, but from the balance of
their diverse talents and personalities. It’s their ability to lean on each other’s strengths, cover each other’s weaknesses, and grow together that fuels their boldness and creativity. Each member’s individuality shapes the group’s identity, making VXON more than just a band — it’s a family built on respect, trust, and shared dreams.
At the end of the day, VXON’s journey is a testament to the power of taking risks. It’s about stepping beyond comfort zones, rewriting the rules, and daring to be different. It’s about betting on themselves—even when the path is uncertain—and trusting their unique sound, style, and spirit to resonate with their growing legion of fans.
As Vince wisely puts it, “Cliché siya pero just believe in yourself kasi ayun talaga e, never lose yourself kasi pag nawala ka sa sarili, hindi mo na alam kung paano, kahit madami nagtitiwala sayo, pero hindi ka nagtitiwala sa sarili mo, hindi mo mag-again yung kailangan mong gawin and focus on yourself, build yourself until kaya mo i-spread yung love sa iba.”
For VXON, belief in self fuels the bold moves, the fearless reinvention, and the relentless pursuit of growth. And with every step, every shot taken, they remind us that true success comes not from playing it safe—but from playing it real. Game on, indeed.
