Fans of The IdeaFirst Company’s first-ever GL or Girls Love series Pearl Next Door, or collectively known as “Kabibabes” are amplifying the voices of Filipinas everywhere by organizing an all-women virtual roundtable discussion for this year’s Women’s History Month.

Lead by the Pearl Next Door Support Team, a Twitter group composed of fans of Pearl Next Door, Women on March: Breaking The Glass Ceiling is a fan-driven event no one has ever seen before, as the different official fan clubs of one of the first GL series in our country, are organizing a dialogue from women of different industries, tackling female-driven issues such as sexism in the workplace, discussion about women’s liberation, and the movement towards gender equality in the Philippines.

The discussion aims to magnify the underlying issues that many Filipinas face and celebrate womanhood, femininity, and women empowerment. “We aim to represent women in the most positive way possible,” said Jia Reyes, one of the head admins of  Pearl Next Door Support Team. She added, “Women have not been treated kindly throughout history, and as a woman myself, I find it important to uplift other women, especially those who are overlooked by our patriarchal culture.”
