If you love Thai Series you need to see these Netflix Shows

Those who haven’t been living under a rock the past couple of months probably noticed that Thai TV series have become super popular here in our country. From dark, twisted, based-on-real-life thrillers to cute, romantic BL (Boys’ Love) shows, Thai series have kept so many Filipinos glued to their screens and thoroughly entertained in the middle of a pandemic.

If you happen to be on the hunt for your next Thai series or if you simply want to give it a shot, here are some of those that you can stream on Netflix!

Girl From Nowhere

Girl From Nowhere is definitely not for the faint of heart, nor is it for those who can’t stomach the unsavory parts of reality. Starring Kitty Chicha Amatayakul, the anthology focuses on Nanno, a girl who transfers to different high schools and exposes some deep, dark secrets along the way.

Fair warning to those who haven’t watched it yet: the shows deal with topics such a rape, pedophilia, academic cheating, and many others that may be uncomfortable to watch. These stories are based on real-life experiences of high school students as well; a cold, hard reality that might be hard to stomach.

2gether: The Series

BL series from Thailand have particularly been hit among the Filipinos during the pandemic, often trending on Twitter and appearing frequently all over social media. One of the BL series you can stream on Netflix is 2gether: The Series, which tells the tale of a college freshman trying to shake off an admirer. In order to do so, he enlists the help of the campus heartthrob and asks him to pretend to be his boyfriend.

The Stranded

If you think getting stranded on an island is bad enough of an idea alone, what more than getting stuck on an island ravaged by a tsunami? This is what the students in The Stranded have to face in the series. It’s a story of resilience and survival, made so much more difficult by unseen forces seemingly unwilling to let them live.
