Online records containing Martial Law history can no longer be accessed

Following the great lead of the son of the late strongman, Ferdinand Marcos, Bong Bong Marcos in the 2022 national elections, it seems like erasing the Marcos regime's dark history for what it is making its way to the archives. The Presidential Museum and Library website under the domain malacañang.gov.ph, which contains the history of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr.'s Martial Law regime, has become inaccessible today.

Even Former Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office Undersecretary Manuel L. Quezon III raised his alarm on Twitter saying that the official website of the Malacañang Palace is unavailable. The Malacañang Palace website stores data about our country’s history, especially records of Martial Law information.

Listed below the thread, he also provided links from The Official Gazette, Archive.org, and Philippine Diary Project which contain information about the victims of the Martial Law and how the Marcos regime changed the way Filipinos fought against the dictatorship.

Netizens also expressed their dismay on the issue, stating that the Marcoses are already taking over and slowly returning their power and hope there will be backup files on what may be erased from our historical archives.
