Award-winning character actress Cherie Gil has passed away, according to a post by actress-talent manager Annabelle Rama on social media on Friday, Aug. 5.

Evangeline Rose Gil Eigenmann better known by her stage Cherie Gil began her career as a child actress at the age of 9, and is best known for her role as Lavinia Arguelles in Bituing Walang Ningning where she delivered the iconic line, "You're nothing but a second-rate, trying hard copycat!" to Dorina, Sharon Cuneta's character.
