After Voltes V, GMA Network wants to make a Daimos live-action series

Voltes V and Daimos are two iconic Japanese anime series that has become an integral part of Filipino culture. The shows were first broadcast in the Philippines in the late 1970s and early 1980s and quickly became immensely popular among children and adults alike.

With that, GMA Network is set to premiere in the second quarter of 2023 a live-action adaptation of the classic anime series, Voltes V. The show, entitled "Voltes V: Legacy," was set to be a retelling of the original story with a modern twist and will reportedly consist of 80 episodes.

With all the attention the upcoming Voltes V adaptation is getting, GMA Network wants to make a Daimos live-action series next.

Daimos live-action

GMA Network Senior Vice President Annette Gozon-Valdes said in an interview with Paolo Contis during his online show Just In that the idea of a Filipino adaptation of Daimos is already on the list. “We’re planning on ‘Daimos’ sana,” Gozon-Valdes shared when Contis asked her what comes next after Voltes V: Legacy.

While nothing is confirmed, we’re hoping that the project pushes through. Voltes V and Daimos have had a significant impact on Filipino culture. Their values, language, fashion, and influence on the entertainment industry have made them an important part of the country's cultural identity. These shows continue to be beloved by generations of Filipinos, and their legacy will continue to shape the country's culture for years to come.
