Let Syd Hartha's Gabay EP Be Your Roadmap to Healing

Mar 23, 2023 0 comments

Filipino singer-songwriter Syd Hartha is taking the music scene by storm with her debut EP, "Gabay," under Sony Music Entertainment. With her soulful and heartfelt tunes, Syd digs deep into her own personal battles with heartbreak, trauma, pandemic stress, and healing, creating a record that's more than just a "warm balm."

In her own words, Syd explains, "My new EP is a compilation of different stories from my adventures and misadventures as a young woman. It mainly talks about healing and taking control over your own destiny; letting go of the past, and getting to know yourself again." And she's not just a one-woman show – Syd collaborated with talented musicians like Pat Sarabia, Raisa Racelis, and Bea Fabros to create a sound that's both delicate and deceptively simple.

Your Roadmap to Healing

But it hasn't always been easy for Syd – she originally planned to release "Gabay" earlier, but the pandemic threw a wrench in her plans. "My band and I were already scheduled for the recording of the whole EP in March 2020," she reveals. "But everything happens for a reason. It gave me room to explore and grow at my own pace." And grow she did – "Gabay" is a stunning showcase of Syd's talents, spinning tales of hope and resilience that are both relatable and inspiring.

From the gloomier moments of "Pakay" and "Kung Nag-aatubili" to the uplifting vibes of "Gabay" and "Lipad," Syd's EP takes listeners on a journey of self-discovery and self-love. As she puts it, "During those moments, I realized that I wouldn't even be alive forever, I might as well just have fun in this whole life thing, right?" So go ahead and have some fun – put on "Gabay" and let Syd Hartha's magical voice transport you to a place of healing and hope.
