Looking for Popoy and Basha! Auditions Now Open for Peta’s One More Chance, the Musical

"Ang sama sama kong tao kasi hanggang ngayon umaasa pa rin ako na sabihin mo, sana ako pa rin. Ako nalang, ako nalang ulit." Can you deliver those lines? What if I tell you, you might get a chance to be Popoy and Basha? Well, this is your chance to channel your inner the Popoy and Basha in you as Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) opens a casting call for "One More Chance, The Musical."

One More Chance, The Musical


Aspiring performers are invited to showcase their talent by submitting a video showcasing their vocal and dance abilities. Participants must submit a video of themselves performing 16 bars or a stanza and a chorus of any Ben&Ben or Original Pilipino Music (OPM) song, followed by four bars of choreography to any contemporary modern music.

To ensure the highest quality of submissions, please ensure that your video is well-lit, recorded in landscape mode, and captures your full body. Additionally, include a brief self-introduction at the beginning of the video, stating your name, age, height, and the last production you participated in.

The deadline for submission of audition videos is November 26 at 11:59 p.m. Live auditions at the PETA Theater Center are scheduled from December 4 to 5, 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., while callbacks are slated for December 12 and 13 from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.

One More Chance


"One More Chance: The Musical" will capture the essence of the 2007 film, showcasing the heartwarming love story of Popoy and Basha, played by John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo. The musical will feature the captivating songs of OPM band Ben&Ben, adding a fresh and vibrant dimension to the narrative.

“One More Chance, The Musical” is set to open in April 2024 at the PETA Theater Center. Casting briefs have been released for characters such as Popoy, Basha, and their closest friends – Krizzy, Kenneth, Anj, and Chinno.
