Heartstopper’s Beloved Nick and Charlie Come Back for the Movie Finale

The fan-favorite queer teen romance is getting a full-length film — and it’s the emotional send-off we’ve all been waiting for.

It’s been a journey with our go-to comfort series, Heartstopper. From the first flutter of feelings to the growing pains of young love, we’ve followed Charlie Spring and Nick Nelson through every moment of joy, heartbreak, and self-discovery. Now, their story is heading toward its final chapter — in a full-length movie that begins filming this summer!

Kit Connor and Joe Locke are returning not just as Nick and Charlie, but also as executive producers, Netflix announced. And yes — Alice Oseman, the creator of the original graphic novel and webcomic, is back to write the film, promising a heartfelt and faithful goodbye to a story that’s touched millions.

We’ve grown up with this series. It’s not just a teen romance — it’s a celebration of queer joy, friendship, identity, and all the quiet moments that make growing up feel so big. We’ve obsessed over every glance, every text, every group hangout, and every hard conversation. And now, we’re bracing ourselves for the next emotional wave.

A Heartstopper movie

In this final chapter, Nick is preparing to leave for university, while Charlie stays behind — and the two must face one of the toughest challenges in any relationship: long distance. From late-night calls to the ache of missing someone who used to be right beside you, the film explores how love changes when growing up means growing apart — even just for a while.

With production underway and the team all set, all that’s left for us is to get our tissues and popcorn ready. We’ll be counting down the days until we can see Nick and Charlie’s story on the big screen.
