10 P-Pop Groups You Need to Know Right Now

As P-pop evolves from a viral trend into a full-blown cultural revolution, the spotlight is expanding. While giants like SB19 and BINI kicked the doors open for acts like ALAMAT, VXON, and G22, the new year is ushering in a fresh "New Wave" of talent.

At Metroscene Mag, we’re keeping our eyes on the rising stars who are redefining the P-pop identity. Here is your guide to the groups taking the scene by storm.

AJAA

Managed by Cornerstone Entertainment (distributed by Republic Records Philippines), AJAA is the definition of "youthful glow." Composed of Ash, JC, Axl, and Alex, this quartet brings a bright, "A-Pop" sound. Their tracks like "Ako Na" and "Torpe" showcase a "crushable" boy-next-door concept, focusing on upbeat melodies and high-energy choreography that resonates perfectly with Gen Z.

GAT

Short for "Gawang Atin ‘To" (This is Our Own), GATS is more than just a group; they are a mission statement for the modern P-Pop era. Composed of Ethan, Charles, Michael Keith, Hans, and Derick, the quintet has carved out a niche by blending international performance standards with an unapologetically Filipino soul.

Tracks like "Daleng Dale" and "Kakaiba" serve as proof of their versatility. "Daleng Dale" showcases their ability to handle fast-paced, high-stakes choreography without losing vocal stability, while "Kakaiba" highlights their deep OPM (Original Pilipino Music) roots, blending catchy pop melodies with the rhythmic sensibilities of Filipino street culture.

NEW:ID

Emerging from the survival show Dream Maker, NEW:ID (Thad, Wilson, Jom, Josh L., and L.) delivers sophisticated, global-standard performances. Under MLD Entertainment, they bring rigorous international training to the local soil. Their sound leans into sleek pop-R&B, making them the go-to for fans who love polished, technical precision.

Cloud 7

Recognized as the "Most Outstanding P-Pop Group of the New Generation" in 2025, Sparkle GMA Artist Center’s Cloud 7 is making history as one of the youngest groups in the industry. Members Lukas, Johann, Egypt, Kairo, Migz, PJ, and Fian (ages 13 to 19) serve their fandom, the "Rainbows," with a surprisingly mature vocal range, especially in their single "Bara Bara."

1621

Blending soulful vocals with a "Pinoy street" edge, 1621 is the answer for those craving grit. Under PPL Entertainment and ABS-CBN Music, members JM, JC, Win, Migz, and DJ have gained traction with tracks like "Simpleng Tulad Mo" and "BAGAMUNDO," staying rooted in the P-pop idol framework while feeling authentically OPM.

YGIG

SBTown’s first girl group and the powerhouse sister group of PLUUS, YGIG is known for their "unpredictable" style. The seven-member lineup—Hazelyn, Vien, Jewel and Maeg—burst onto the scene with "Shaba Shaba" (inspired by "Siya ba?"). They represent a versatile, major talent in the current girl group circuit.

DNA

A powerhouse trio consisting of sisters Ezri, Julia, and Tasha, music is literally in their blood as the nieces of Asia’s Songbird, Regine Velasquez. Debuting in late 2025, they bring a vocal-heavy approach to P-pop, proving the genre is as much about elite Filipino artistry and harmony as it is about performance.

RAYA

Formerly PPOP Generation, RAYA—Jemima, Rona, Kash, Priscilla, Aviona, Abel, Ash, Anna, and Sofia—is a rebranded 9-member unit. Dubbed "The New Gems of Philippine Pop" by Viva Records, they combine high-fashion aesthetics with elite performance skills. Their single "Bling!" signals their arrival as a world-class powerhouse.

VVINK

Emerging from the hit-making powerhouse FlipMusic, VVINK is a five-member girl group somprising Angelika, Jean, Ayaka, Odri, and Mariel. Their debut, "Baduy," is a bold act of cultural reclamation. By filtering Budots through a hyperpop lens, VVINK transforms street culture into a global-ready sound.

PIX!E

Under Dreamcloud Media and Viva Artists Agency, PIX!E with Mita, Nicole, Pearl, Jane, Hana, and Kath are casting a spell with their self-produced debut, "Iced Coffee." As the 2024 Rising Group of the Year, they blend "magical" charms with authentic songwriting, proving they are the next big act to watch.
