Steven Spielberg's West Side Story trailer is finally here!

After being delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, the first trailer for Steven Spielberg's new film adaptation of West Side Story is finally here!

Originally slated to dance its way into theaters last December, Spielberg's remake of the 1961 classic stars Ansel Elgort as Tony and Rachel Zegler as Maria is now scheduled to be released on Dec. 10, 2021.

Set to the tune of a slowed-down version of "Somewhere (A Place For Us)," the trailer depicts the musical's classic as a unique re-telling of Romeo And Juliet, with rival 1957 New York City street gangs, the Sharks and the Jets, standing in for the Capulets and the Montagues.

The new movie will take its cues from the original 1957 Broadway musical rather than the film, and most impotantly, it will include all of the classic songs. This would be Spielberg’s first musical ever, so that’s something.
