Before K-Pop, These 90s groups made us sing and dance to their music

It’s pretty much an understatement these days to say that K-Pop has taken the world by storm. From Super Junior’s Sorry Sorry and Wonder Girls’ Nobody to PSY’s Gangnam Style to the current hits of BTS and BLACKPINK, countless fans worldwide have been singing and dancing along to the biggest hits of South Korea.

But K-Pop groups aren’t exactly the first pop acts to do the whole singing and dancing routine. Years before K-Pop even became a thing, we all sang and danced along to the hits of these pop groups from the 90s and early 2000s:

Backstreet Boys

Many have tried to come close, but the Backstreet Boys remains the best-selling boy band. More than being just a singing group, they also frequently danced during their performances, whether live on stage or in their music videos.

Spice Girls

Now we jump to the best-selling girl group of all time. Together, Melanie B (Scary Spice), Melanie C (Sporty Spice), Emma (Baby Spice), Geri (Ginger Spice), and Victoria (Posh Spice) sold 90 million records worldwide and released some of the songs 90s girls loved to dance to along the way.

*NSYNC

Before Justin Timberlake went solo, he used to be part of a boy band called *NSYNC. Despite disbanding in 2002, *NSYNC is still known for their catchy tunes and equally catchy dance moves.

Steps

One of the most popular dance-pop groups from the UK, Steps is a five-member group composed of members Claire, Faye, H, Lee, and Lisa. After disbanding in 2001, Steps reunited in 2017 and have been promoting as a group once more.

S Club 7

From S Club 7 to S Club to S Club 3 and now back to being S Club 7, you probably know this group because of their pop ballad hit, Never Had a Dream Come True. But aside from that, this British pop group has also released their fair share of dance-pop hits.
