Jul 11, 2023 0 comments

With more than 300 thousand followers on Facebook, internet royalty Yasmin Asistido a.k.a Kween Yasmin, has proven herself to be much more than just a meme. She's an icon, she's a legend, and she is the moment. But if you will ask us why? TBH, we're not really sure. But whatever she's up to, we are all for it!

Metroscene Mag was lucky enough to interview the kween herself, and we did chat about her confusing thoughts on life, dreams, and passion. Read through the article and get to know the woman behind your favorite meme.

The reign of Kween Yasmin

If you haven't heard of Kween Yasmin, you must be living under a rock. Kween Yasmin's supremacy is absolute, and the proofs is all over the internet. Her videos and memes always go viral, which made us think if she has always wanted to become a content creator.

"To be honest, yes. I started creating content back in 2015 up until today," she said, and it's clearly paying off since Yasmin is now signed under ViVa Entertainment as one of their artists.

Kween Yasmin in her Natural Form

With all the clout Kween Yasmin is receiving and all the hard work that she is doing, one thing is also for sure— it's all for her family.

"My inspiration of course is my family, friends na lagi nanjan pag down na down ako sila yung una kong malalapitan."

But just like the most of us, Kween Yasmin lives a normal life behind the internet. According to her she is quite "Tamad" and its something everyone can relate to.

"Yun ang di nila alam ng mga tao," she revealed. "Pag-nag vivideo, pag nag shoshoot sipag tiyaga, para sa creative at maganda ang magiging kalabasan ng out put ng video shoot, dun ako masipag, pag asa iba tamad ako, yung ang di nila alam," she continues.

The power of laugh

Being a content creator is not an easy job, Kween Yasmin is constantly thinking of new ideas and content just for our entertainment. That how a hard dreamer works.

"I get inspiration from other vloggers and sometimes my own ideas," she said. She also takes inpiration to other artists like her favorite Vlogger Zeinab Harake. "Dun ako namomotivate at natututo ng kaalaman para sa video shoot, sila din ang motivation ko pra maipag patuloy ang content na ito."

With all the content creators going viral every day, Kween Yasmin wants to remind them to be more aware of what they post and take responsibility for their actions. "Think before you click," she said.

At the end of our interview, the Kween also gave a piece of advice that every young, empowered, and creative Filipino should remember during these dark times.

"Mag aral silang palagi huwag pababayaan ang pag aaral kasi yun yung magandang kinabukasan na mag aahon sa kahirapan yun lang ang tanging kayamanan nila mag karaoon sila ng diploma."

For sure: The internet is a weird place, and people go viral even for the most confusing reason. But for Kween Yasmin, it isn't luck. It's not magic— it's destiny.
