Being almost two years into this pandemic, we’re surely drained from this repetitive cycle of clocking into our online classes or day-jobs. We try to breakaway from routine by finding new trends and hobbies such as Sushi Bake, becoming Plantitos/Plantitas, and even baking!

Disconnect and make time for yourself! Wanna learn a new skill? We might have something new for you! Here are a couple of hobbies you might wanna try out!

  1. Embroidery

Do you remember those summer days where you’ll stitch your notebooks with yarn? Well here’s something similar! From making wall arts to designing tote bags, you’ll surely get those busy hands occupied getting creative and learning various patterns!

  1. Decoupage Art

Want to personalize your WFH stuff? Maybe you want to upgrade your journaling lifestyle? Well, why not try out Decoupage Art! All you have to do is simply cut-out your resources, gather your items and materials, and start crafting. There’s no rules on how to make a decoupage art, remember this is all about you! So, whatever you design is up to you!

  1. Paint by Numbers

Feeling artsy and want to try a hand at painting? Well, you might wanna try Paint by Numbers! It’s simple yet loads of fun! The way it works is you have a picture with numbered areas, and you paint the area with their corresponding color-number assigned to it. Each Paint by Numbers kit has different designs to choose from, be it sceneries, cartoon characters, portraits, or flowers, you name it. Grab one now and have your masterpiece framed and hung in your bedroom!

  1. Miniatures

Miss building things? Tired of Sims? Why not try doing some DIY Miniatures. Build your own tiny room, dollhouse, café, and apartment! There are various kits to choose from! Start getting those hands crafty and display your miniatures once you’ve finished building them. Who knows, maybe seeing your DIY Miniatures might motivate you to make your miniature life-sized one day!

PS: If you’re a FRIENDS fan, well there are also miniatures of Monica’s Apartment and Central Park! Imagine yourself as part of the gang.

  1. Diamond Painting

Imagine if cross stitching and paint by numbers had a baby, well here comes Diamond Painting! Here, you use an applicator to glue the corresponding rhinestones or gems to the corresponding numbers. It might sound easy but just like any other hobby, it takes a lot of patience to do it. A shiny artwork is what will greet you once you’ve completed it! Feel free to hang it as a decor in your house.

Bonus: Reading

Nothing like a timeless pastime to unwind and escape yourself from tedious WFH, modules, and digital space. Just sit back, grab a cup of coffee or tea along with your favorite book, and read the day away.

Read: These LGBTQ+ books should be on your reading list
