In a vast ocean of incredible pop artists, Mac Coronel stands out as a true mastermind who took on the challenge of becoming a Taylor Swift impersonator! This 28-year-old Swiftie has been a devoted fan of Taylor since the Fearless era and has now embarked on a hilarious journey as a drag performer, starting with her memorable debut as Madonna at Today.

Fast forward to the present, Mac has truly become Taylor Sheesh, captivating audiences with her performances and giving fans a chance to relish in the timeless classics like Love Story and You Belong With Me. But that's not all! She's also treating Swifties to epic renditions of fan-favorites like the 10-minute version of All Too Well and August, spreading the Swiftie spirit throughout the malls of the Philippines. Trust us, nobody does it quite like her! These events always turn into concert-like spectacles, with enthusiastic Swifties singing along and having the time of their lives.

While Mac is widely recognized for her incredible Taylor Sheesh persona, let's pause for a moment and delve into her personal journey, the challenges she faced, her inspirations, and the remarkable life she leads!

Getting to Know the Real Taylor Sheesh

Born November 29, 1994, and originally from Antipolo City, Mac Coronel is a drag queen performer at Nectar Nightclub. For entertainment purposes, a drag queen – typically male – will dress in drag attire and makeup to imitate or exaggerate female gender roles and signifiers.

During our exclusive interview, The Sagittarius Queen shared that her love for Taylor Swift began when she first heard "Fifteen" from the award-winning country album "Fearless." which also won the Album of the Year at the Grammys. The song resonated with her personal experience of falling in love with a classmate at the age of 15. Mac also said that "Last Kiss" is her ultimate favorite song from Speak Now, which is also her favorite album of all time. TASTE!

Aside from being Taylor Sheesh, Mac works as a customer service representative at a BPO company. During her free time, she enjoys playing online games and creating doodles and pixel art.

Mac on Her Struggles and Inspirations

Impersonating the biggest pop star in the world comes with endless doubts and struggles. Even with years of impersonation, Mac can’t escape her own treacherous worries, just like the icon Taylor Swift.

“There's always a struggle with impersonating a big personality artist, like when Swifties expect me to look like her, which I can't because we don't have the same facial features As always with the golden child, I'm always full of doubt while impersonating her, thinking that I will disappoint the Swifties from the way I look and perform. On the brighter side, the best part of the mall shows is seeing the Swifties sing Taylor Swift's songs as loud as they can while I'm performing,” she said.

For Mac, Taylor Swift's music has been an influential soundtrack that has shaped her as both a person and performer. Taylor Swift taught Mac life lessons, especially how to be kind and respectful to each other as well as having a dedication to fighting for equality and empowering women. Swift's messages of self-love and gratitude towards her fans have also struck a chord deeply with Mac. Long story short, she survived by embracing herself.

BIG REPUTATION: The Media

Taylor Swift has always been a victim of the malicious and harsh portrayal of women in the media. The sad truth is Mac, who only wants to share happiness and show her talents, also experiences the same kind of scrutiny and negativity, especially from Facebook comment sections. She expressed her sentiment with Metroscene Mag about this matter.

“We've always found Taylor Swift to be an adorable and fierce woman. However, the media always targets her. We've known that the media always finds an ugly side of you for the sake of entertainment. But Miss Swift claps back with a whip-smart response after being unfairly judged in the media. When I posted a video of me performing "August," I received a lot of bashing and criticism from people who I really don't have any idea who they are. They always judge me by how skinny I am. Little did they know that I was struggling with body dysmorphia. I'm trying my best to gain weight, but it didn't work.”

It’s time to ask yourself and think million times before shoving insensitive comments at those people you don’t even know. As Taylor Swift said, cause shade never made anybody less gay! Let’s promote a more positive and supportive environment for everyone and focus on celebrating their talent and hard work rather than tearing them down with hurtful and nasty comments.

DEAR READER: Message for the Supporters

Despite the highs and lows, Mac continues to persevere and is even stronger than the 90s trend. With unwavering support from Swifties, she promises to deliver more engaging and amazing performances. Mac is truly grateful for all the warm welcome and love and leaves a special message for all of her supporters.

“Thank you for saying that. I'm forever grateful to the people who believe in my talent. I just want to say that we need to be on the right side of history. Just always remember Queen Taylor Swift said, "Just focus on your work and don't let people sidetrack you. Someday, when you get where you're going, you'll look around, and you'll know that it was you and the people who loved you who put you there, and that will be the greatest feeling in the world," she said.
