Here’s a Look at What Marina Summers Wore on the Cannes Red Carpet

After bringing the Heat Wave to our Metroscene summer cover, Marina Summers turned up the heat once again—this time on the iconic red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival.

Marina Summers didn’t just show up at Cannes—she absolutely shut it down. Our May cover girl made history as the first-ever Filipina drag queen to grace the Cannes red carpet, owning every moment with undeniable confidence and style. She’s living proof of what it means to be a modern Filipina diva.

“Such a big moment to be repping for the Filipino Drag and Queer community in the sea of people on the red carpet,” Marina said—and yeah, that’s the kind of moment that actually matters.

Her trip wasn’t just about looks (although she served every single one). It was about presence. Power. Pride. Here’s a rundown of the looks Marina rocked during Cannes week.

Bonjour, Cannes!

Even with a packed Europe tour, Marina Summers carved out time for a quick Cannes stop—and served. Before the red carpet, she was already turning heads, strolling through the streets like the It Girl she is. Styled by Lyn Alumno, Marina gave a masterclass in off-carpet elegance wearing a sculpted wasp-waist top by Mike Yapching and wide-leg trousers from Dalabel Manila. Marina brought drama and ease in equal measure, finishing the look with Christian Louboutin heels and a touch of sparkle from Swarovski—because a little shine goes a long way.

Cannes Day 2: A Vision in Silk

On her second day in Cannes, Marina was nothing short of ethereal. Dressed in a nude silk tulle masterpiece by Rajo Laurel, she floated through the streets like a modern-day muse. Styled by Lyn Alumno, the entire look was a graceful nod to classic glamour, reimagined through a contemporary lens. She elevated the look with luminous pieces from Jewelmer, cinched her waist with a statement belt by SOLÁ, adding structure to the softness.

La Noir on the Red Carpet

During the main red carpet event, Marina Summers showed up and showed out. In a custom one-shoulder sequined black gown by Mark Bumgarner, she embodied full femme fatale energy—powerful, poised, and impossible to ignore. The look was sculpted to perfection, a masterclass in serving silhouette, confidence, and narrative all at once.

Once again styled by Lyn Alumno, the ensemble was brought to life with statement pieces from Miladay Fine Jewels and EIRIN Jewelry, catching the light at every angle. Her glam? Impeccable. Harry Clifford Jefferson crafted a face that didn’t flinch under the flashes—sharp, sultry, unforgettable. Finishing the look, a sleek, architectural hairstyle by Fauxlenciiaga and Wigs by Margaux added even more polish.

It wasn’t just a walk—it was a declaration. Marina didn’t just attend Cannes. She owned it.

Our Golden Girl

On Day 2, Marina revealed that her dress hadn’t arrived on time—but you’d never guess it. She graced the red carpet in an archival Rajo Laurel piece that transformed her into a radiant gold goddess. Paired with sleek black lace heels, and styled by Lyn Alumno, she looked ready to own every moment that came her way. Her polished, sleek hair—crafted by Wigs by Margaux and Fauxlenciiaga—and the luminous sparkle of jewelry from Miladay Jewels completed a look that was equal parts dramatic and effortlessly elegant. Honestly, Marina—are you sure you’re not some kind of sun deity?

Marina has always been known as THE ICON DIVA SUPERSTAR, and apparently, even Angelina Jolie agrees. In a candid Instagram post, Marina shared a moment with the Hollywood legend, who looked back at her with genuine admiration—and told her she looked “gorgeous tonight.” We’re not surprised, and honestly, we couldn’t agree more.

Cannes Film Festival

For those unfamiliar, Cannes is not just any film festival; it’s one of the most prestigious and glamorous cinematic events worldwide, held every year in the picturesque French Riviera. Since its inception in 1946, Cannes has been the ultimate stage where the biggest international stars, visionary directors, and groundbreaking films come together to celebrate the art of storytelling and style.

Here’s a fun Pinoy fact: the Philippines has a proud history with Cannes. Legendary filmmaker Lino Brocka was the first Filipino to have his film screened at Cannes back in 1975, opening doors for local cinema on the global stage. Since then, several Filipino films and talents have made waves at the festival, solidifying our country’s presence in the world of film.
