Taylor Swift is kicking off her next chapter and she’s doing it with a little glitter, a lot of mystery, and a whole lot of orange. The singer just announced her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, only hours after her website transformed into a shimmering orange countdown clock that sent Swifties spiraling into theory mode.
The timer, set to hit zero at 12:12 a.m. ET on the 12th, had fans predicting a big reveal. Right on cue, Taylor dropped the album title during her guest appearance on Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast.
The clues had been brewing for days. Kelce teased a “special guest” on Instagram, and the podcast even shared a promo image with a silhouette suspiciously resembling Taylor a classic breadcrumb for the fandom to follow. Adding more fuel to the fire, rumors are already circulating that Sabrina Carpenter might be featured on the album. The two recently wrapped their Eras Tour run together, and fans have been quick to connect the dots.
There’s still no release date, and the album cover hasn’t been revealed yet, but that’s just part of the fun. If history is any indication, this is only the opening act for what’s about to be another iconic Taylor Swift era.
