ICYMI: The Quezon City Public Library is offering free online Japanese lessons

Attention, language lovers! If you're an avid linguaphile, you'll be thrilled to know that the Quezon City Public Library is bringing back their free online basic Japanese language classes starting on April 17, 2023. Get ready to say "Konnichiwa" to a new language!

This fantastic opportunity was first launched in 2019 in partnership with Jellyfish Education Philippines, Inc. Whether you're a total beginner or looking to brush up on your skills, this course is the perfect chance to immerse yourself in the language and culture of Japan. Plus, did we mention it's totally free? So don't hesitate to sign up and join the fun.

Who knows, maybe one day you'll find yourself confidently ordering sushi in Tokyo or striking up a conversation with a new Japanese friend. The possibilities are endless with language learning, so why not give it a try? Mark your calendars and get ready to embark on an exciting journey into the world of Japanese language and culture with the Quezon City Public Library!


Classes will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM via Zoom, until December 11, 2023.

According to the Quezon City Public Library's Facebook post, interested applicants must have the following requirements:
  • Applicant must be 18 years old and above
  • Owns a laptop, desktop, or smartphone
  • Has a stable internet connection
  • Has a Zoom application account

It will be on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED basis, and only the first 500 successful applicants will be accommodated per session.  The Quezon City Public Library also reminds every participant to use their real names in the Zoom account so the moderator can easily recognize them during class.

Participants will receive a digital participation certificate after completing the evaluation form provided after each class.If you have any plans to visit Japan in the future, it will be good to learn some of the basics. So what are you waiting for? Register now!
